I am a proud Brownsville resident and lifelong advocate for our community. Over the past several decades, I have worked at the federal, state, and local levels—including ten years on Capitol Hill and fifteen years serving Cameron County—to advance projects that strengthen our economy and create opportunity, such as the expansion of the Port of Brownsville ship channel. I understand how government, business, and workforce development come together to drive growth, and I bring the experience, relationships, and commitment needed to keep our Port moving forward. I am running to serve, to help our community prosper, and to ensure the Port of Brownsville continues to be a strong economic engine for South Texas. I humbly ask for your vote and support.

My Vision for the Port of Brownsville

Powering the Future

The Port of Brownsville stands at the crossroads of innovation and opportunity. Our vision is to make it a hub for clean energy, advanced logistics, and sustainable manufacturing that drives prosperity for generations to come. By investing in cutting-edge technologies and supporting partnerships that attract new industries, we’ll ensure the Port remains a leader in powering South Texas and beyond.

Protecting our Assets

Our Port’s strength lies in its infrastructure, environment, and workforce. Protecting those assets is not just good policy—it’s our responsibility. We will maintain and modernize facilities, safeguard natural resources like our waterways and wildlife habitats, and uphold strict safety and security standards to protect everyone who works and does business here.

Strategically Planning Growth

Growth must be guided by strategy, not chance. Through careful planning, data-driven decisions, and collaboration with local, state, and federal partners, we’ll position the Port for smart, sustainable expansion. Whether it’s deepening channels, improving road and rail access, or preparing new sites for investment, every step will strengthen our region’s competitive edge while preserving our unique coastal identity.

Prioritizing People at the Port

Behind every shipment, project, and development are the hardworking men and women who make the Port thrive. Our vision puts people first—creating good-paying local jobs, expanding training opportunities, and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace. We’ll continue building pathways for young talent and local businesses so that as the Port grows, our community grows with it.
